Refund & Withdrawal Policy

TL;DR: EU consumers have 14 days to withdraw — but only if you haven't yet used the unlocked content. Once you make a knockout pick, you waive that right. Outside the EU: refunds at our discretion. Email info@worldcup2026-predictor.com for any issue.

1. Right of withdrawal — EU consumers

If you're a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, under Directive 2011/83/EU (transposed into Austrian law as §§ 11–18 FAGG).

1.1 Important exception — digital content

This is a digital service that gives you immediate access to content (the knockout bracket). Under § 18 (1) Z. 11 FAGG, you lose your right of withdrawal as soon as you:

Expressly consent that performance begins before the 14-day period ends, and
Acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins.

By clicking "Unlock the bracket" and completing payment, you give that consent. In practice: once you make your first knockout pick, the service is "performed" and the right of withdrawal is waived.

1.2 If you haven't used the service yet

If you paid but haven't made any knockout pick yet, you have 14 days from purchase to withdraw and receive a full refund. To withdraw, email info@worldcup2026-predictor.com with:

Subject: Withdrawal
The email address used for the purchase
The transaction ID from your Stripe receipt

We'll process the refund within 14 days via the original payment method.

      (*) Delete as appropriate.

3. Refunds outside the EU

If you're not in the EU, we still consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of purchase. Reasons we may refund:

Technical issue prevented you from using the service
Accidental duplicate purchase
Service was misrepresented

We will not refund:

Change of mind after using the bracket
Disagreement with the prediction result
Requests after the World Cup Final has been played

4. Failed payments and duplicate charges

If you see a duplicate charge or were charged but didn't receive an unlock token, email us — we'll refund the duplicate immediately.

5. Prize-draw entries are not refundable

Once you've been entered into the prize draw, refunding your purchase forfeits your entry. We don't compensate for forfeited entries.

6. How refunds are processed

Refunds are issued via the original payment method (Stripe)
Processing time: 5–10 business days for credit card; 1–3 business days for SEPA
Stripe's processing fees are non-refundable, but we eat that cost
